Gives life to the breath Giving blessings to the next generation Another phase of thuru Kapakaru tree planting program was held at Mahindodaya Vidyalaya, Dambadeniya until it was jointly implemented by Slon Lanka Private Company and News First. Here, Mr. Narada Godage and Mr. Priyanath Madushanka, the regional sales representative of Slon Lanka Pvt. Ltd., the principal teachers of Mahindodaya College, parents and children taking care of the plants together planted more than 100 plants in the school grounds under the guardian system.

To mark World Water Day and World Forest Day, a Thuru Kepakaru tree planting programme was held on 22nd of March 2024, with the support of Forest Conservation Department and Kantale Irrigation Engineering Office at Kanthale Dam. Participants included Divisional Secretary of Kanthale Mrs.N.M.Upeksha, Brand Manager of Slon Mr. Nuwan Harshana, Kantale Divisional Irrigation Engineer Mr. S.A.C.S. Suraweera, Trincomalee Forest Extension Officer, Forest Conservation Department Mr. W.V.P.Ananda, Kantale Site Officer S.M.A.H. Samarakoon and the commanding officer of the Civil Defense Department, Major K.C. Akalanka and the school students of Kanthale Agrabodhi. 300 saplings were planted in this special event.
